Position Overview
Life Entabeni Hospital seeks a dedicated Quality Officer to support the quality and environmental management system across Life Entabeni Hospital, Life St Joseph Hospital, and Life Entabeni Rehabilitation and Renal Units. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Officer will enhance quality processes and facilitate effective communication and compliance within quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Foster productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in forums, cross-functional activities, and networking to support quality initiatives.
- Quality Process Monitoring and Improvement:
- Collaborate on annual review of hospital quality and environmental objectives, ensuring alignment with Group goals.
- Generate monthly quality scorecards, reports, and support Clinical and Quality Governance meetings.
- Oversee waste management processes in collaboration with Infection Prevention Specialist and HODs.
- Deviation and Incident Management:
- Support reporting, investigation, and resolution of quality and environmental incidents.
- Monitor closeouts of deviations identified in audits.
- Data Management with InfoQuest System:
- Train staff on InfoQuest reporting, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data.
- Submit timely reports and maintain a corrective action register.
- Risk Identification and Management:
- Assist in conducting risk assessments and maintain the hospital’s risk register.
- Monitor action plans and provide feedback to the Quality Manager.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Coordinate Health & Safety Committee meetings and track staff training.
- Manage employee injury reports and ensure compliance with COIDA and health standards.
- Emergency Planning and Disaster Management:
- Schedule and track completion of emergency and disaster drills.
- Disseminate emergency plans across departments to ensure preparedness.
- Document Control and Audits:
- Oversee quality document control processes, including training and annual review.
- Participate in internal and external audits, monitor corrective actions, and close out non-conformities.
- Staff Training and Development:
- Conduct induction and ongoing training sessions focused on quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing with current SANC registration.
- Strong computer proficiency and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards and Health and Safety legislation.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry and COIDA.
- Strong prioritization and follow-through capabilities.
