Job Overview
Life St George’s Hospital is offering vacancies for 2nd and 3rd-year pharmacy students (in 2025) to gain practical experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. The selected candidates will report to Adaire Begley, Senior Pharmacist, and will work evening shifts during the week, as well as weekday and evening shifts over weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Pharmacy Assistance: Engage in general housekeeping and administrative tasks as assigned by the pharmacy manager.
- Inventory Management: Unpack medicines, handle ward orders, and assist in cycle counts and stock takes.
- Compounding: Help with the compounding of pharmaceutical preparations under guidance.
- Scope-Specific Tasks: Perform duties aligned with the scope set by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
Requirements
- Academic Qualifications: Must have completed the first year of a B.Pharm degree.
- Registration: Must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a student.
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
- Location: Must reside in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha and have reliable transport.
