Position Overview
Life Beacon Bay Hospital is looking for a Maternity Case Administrator to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for managing care coordination functions for patients during both low and high-risk antenatal journeys, as well as the post-partum journey, under the Little Life Integrated Care Product (LLICP). The administrator will liaise between the doctors, midwives, and the maternity team, ensuring smooth onboarding, offboarding, and compliance tracking for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Communication & Liaison:
- Act as a key liaison between doctors’ practices, midwives, and the maternity team.
- Follow up on patient appointments with the midwife or doctor’s office.
- Ensure communication and coordination between internal and external stakeholders, providing feedback as necessary.
- Referral & Risk Management:
- Action referrals and risk status updates from doctors’ practices.
- Ensure that all required documents are uploaded and properly managed in the system.
- Administrative and Data Management:
- Capture data into the CMS system, ensuring all forms and patient details are updated accurately.
- Monitor CMS alerts and ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Maintain accurate records of patient consent forms, referrals, and risk changes.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (nursing, pharmacy, business hubs).
- Provide feedback and assist with the implementation of corrective actions when required.
- Ensure the efficient coordination of external patient calls, escalating to the midwife as needed.
- Program Marketing & Training:
- Assist with marketing the Little Life Integrated Care Program (LLICP).
- Provide training on relevant processes and contracts to internal stakeholders (e.g., pharmacy, pre-admission, and nursing staff).
Requirements
- Education:
- Matric or equivalent qualification.
- Foundational knowledge in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Microbiology.
- Experience & Knowledge:
- Understanding of hospital patient services processes.
- Familiarity with CPT & ICD coding and funder contracts.
- Knowledge of the private hospital industry and practices.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in computer systems and CMS.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining professionalism and urgency.
