Position Summary
The Key Account Manager will report directly to the General Manager of Sales and will be responsible for managing national key accounts across Johannesburg. Your main goal will be to enhance customer relationships, drive sales growth, and strategically develop new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement
- Relationship Management: Establish, build, and maintain effective relationships with group owners and buyers through regular visits and communication. Your ability to nurture these relationships will be crucial for driving sales and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively resolve any issues related to rebate payments or other grouping queries, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all parties involved.
- Promotional Opportunities: Communicate cycle deals and promotional opportunities effectively to increase market share, ensuring clients are aware of the value propositions available to them.
- Product Testing: Conduct casing tests (thickness, filling capacity, etc.) and collaborate with the relevant Area Sales Manager (ASM) to introduce and monitor the performance of new product lines.
Sales Administration and Reporting
- Sales Collaboration: Travel with ASMs to grouping accounts to strengthen relationships and track sales performance firsthand. Your presence in the field will help foster teamwork and drive sales initiatives.
- Performance Tracking: Consolidate and maintain comprehensive notes for each grouping customer to facilitate effective communication and strategy adjustments. Regularly liaise with ASMs to monitor current grouping performance and the implementation of strategic plans.
- Feedback Submission: Provide weekly feedback on grouping performance to your Line Manager and the Managing Director. This will ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned on goals and achievements.
Sales Growth
- Market Expansion: Focus on growing designated businesses by introducing additional product lines and replacing current alternate supplier lines. Your efforts will be instrumental in gaining a larger market share within the FMCG sector.
- Budget Achievement: Drive and achieve designated sales budgets in terms of volume and revenue for NC, ING, ARC, and GEL. Your commitment to meeting these goals will directly impact the company’s success.
Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Background: A completed Matric certificate is essential, with further qualifications in sales, business management, or a related field being advantageous.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of sales experience in the FMCG, food, retail, informal trade, or wholesale sectors is crucial. This experience should demonstrate a track record of successful account management and sales growth.
