About the Role
As the General Restaurant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the dining experience at our new establishment. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service, and maintaining the high standards of our restaurant. You will be instrumental in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests, where they can enjoy delicious meals and excellent service.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations:
- Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that everything runs efficiently and effectively.
- Manage the front of house and back of house operations, ensuring high standards in service and food quality.
- Staff Management and Training:
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to provide exceptional service.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration among staff members to create a positive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Customer Relations:
- Build strong relationships with guests, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Stock Control:
- Manage inventory and stock levels, ensuring that the restaurant is well-stocked and waste is minimized.
- Work with suppliers to order supplies, negotiate prices, and maintain quality standards.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profit margins, to ensure the restaurant remains profitable.
- Prepare reports and provide insights to management on financial performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Administrative Duties:
- Handle administrative tasks related to restaurant management, including scheduling, payroll, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all operations adhere to local laws and regulations, including food safety standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Experience:
- A minimum of five years of experience in restaurant management, with a solid understanding of restaurant operations.
- Proven experience managing a team and fostering a positive work culture.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
- Proficiency in stock management and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with restaurant software and technology.
- Education:
- A relevant qualification in hospitality management or a related field is preferred, but extensive experience can substitute formal education.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges between R 25,000 and R 30,000 gross per month.
