Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Credit Controller, you will have a range of responsibilities that are essential to maintaining the financial health of the organization. Here are the primary duties you will undertake:

  1. Preparation of Debtors Accounts:
    You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate debtors accounts. This involves regularly updating records to ensure all information reflects current transactions and balances.
  2. Resolving Queries:
    Customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will need to address any queries related to accounts receivable promptly. This means communicating with clients and internal departments to ensure all concerns are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  3. Preparing Debtors Age Analysis:
    Regularly generating age analysis reports for debtors is crucial for tracking outstanding payments. You will analyze these reports to identify overdue accounts and implement strategies for timely collection.
  4. Reconciliations for Debtors Accounts:
    You will conduct regular reconciliations of debtors accounts to ensure that records match the company’s financial statements. This process helps identify any discrepancies early, allowing for quick resolution.
  5. Handling New Credit Applications:
    Part of your role will include processing new credit applications. You will evaluate these applications thoroughly, considering the creditworthiness of potential clients before approving credit limits.
  6. Vetting and Risk Management:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this position, you should meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:

  • Matric/Grade 12 Certificate: A basic requirement for this role is a Matric or Grade 12 certificate, which demonstrates your foundational education.
  • NDip/BCom in Finance or Credit Management: A National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in finance or credit management is required. This educational background provides you with the theoretical knowledge necessary for effective credit control.
  • 5 to 10 Years of Debtors Experience: We are looking for candidates with substantial experience in debtors management. A proven track record in this area indicates your ability to handle the complexities of the role.
  • Risk Management and Credit Vetting Experience: Experience in risk management and credit vetting is crucial, as you will be assessing client risk profiles regularly.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for managing data, generating reports, and performing complex calculations.
  • Acumatica Experience (Advantageous): Familiarity with Acumatica or similar accounting software is a plus, as it will help streamline your daily tasks.
  • Foreign/Forex Payment/Reconciliation Experience: Understanding foreign payment processes and reconciliations will be beneficial, particularly if the company deals with international clients.
