Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
- A relevant degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar HR role.
- Experience working in the FMCG industry is a must.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and experience in labor relations.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
As the Junior HRBP, your responsibilities will include a variety of HR-related duties aimed at ensuring smooth workforce management and compliance with company policies. These include:
- Recruitment & Selection: Work closely with the HR Manager to assess the personnel needs of various departments. You will assist in the hiring process, from identifying vacancies to screening candidates and conducting interviews.
- New Employee Induction: Ensure that all new employees are effectively integrated into the company by overseeing the onboarding process and making sure they are familiar with company policies and procedures.
- Support to Site Managers: Provide assistance to managers at various company sites, offering guidance on HR-related matters, such as employee performance and legal compliance.
- HR Documentation: Prepare and manage important HR documents, including employment contracts, transfer letters, termination documents, and training materials. You will ensure all paperwork is up-to-date and compliant with labor laws.
- Employee Relations: Advise managers and staff on matters related to labor relations, ensuring fair and legal handling of employee disputes, grievances, and disciplinary issues.
- Compliance and Reporting: Handle the preparation and submission of Employment Equity reports, ensuring the company meets its legal obligations in this area. Monitor adherence to company policies and government regulations.
- Industrial Relations (IR): Support line managers in handling industrial relations matters, such as disciplinary hearings, grievances, and issues of employee incapacity. You may also be responsible for representing the company during labor disputes at the CCMA (Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration).
- Appeals and Disciplinary Procedures: Manage appeals following disciplinary actions, ensuring that the company’s disciplinary code is followed correctly.
- Training and Development: Collaborate with managers to identify staff training needs and performance improvement opportunities. Conduct analysis and reporting on employee performance and development to support business objectives.
- HR Best Practices: Provide sound HR advice, ensuring the company adheres to best practices and remains up to date with legislative changes in labor law.
