Position Overview
Life Queenstown Private Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse 2IC in the General Ward. Reporting to the General Ward Unit Manager, the ideal candidate will ensure the effective delivery of high-quality patient care, support healthcare team activities, and contribute to a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Nursing Care: Provide and supervise nursing care following legislative standards, ensuring professional and ethical practice.
- Patient Care Planning: Use nursing scientific processes to create and manage comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Team Coordination: Supervise and support nursing team members, ensuring cohesive care delivery.
- Customer Satisfaction: Use quality improvement tools to enhance patient experience, manage complaints, and foster strong relationships with the multidisciplinary team.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment, participating in safety and infection control practices.
- Resource Management: Oversee cost-effective care through efficient stock management, case management, and billing procedures.
- Staff Development: Mentor staff, assist in performance management, and provide on-the-job training to enhance skills and morale.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or Diploma in General Nursing, with SANC registration.
- Experience: Relevant nursing experience and technical skills to meet role requirements.
- Additional Qualifications: Diploma in a specialty area, if applicable.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with private healthcare industry practices, computer proficiency, and basic understanding of interdepartmental cooperation and patient satisfaction strategies.
