Key Responsibilities:

As the Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the complete accounting function within the organization. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You will provide insights and recommendations based on financial data, supporting strategic decision-making within the company.
• Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of budgets, ensuring that expenditures are aligned with organizational goals. You will monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analyses to the finance team.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. This includes regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure data consistency and reliability.
• Cost Accounting: Analyze production costs and provide reports to management to assist in decision-making. You will work closely with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall efficiency.
• Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and addressing queries. Your role will be essential in ensuring compliance and transparency in financial operations.
• Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies. You will assist in implementing best practices to enhance financial controls and mitigate risks.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and supply chain, to provide financial insights that support business initiatives and growth strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BCom Accounting) is essential. Candidates must have completed their SAIPA or SAICA articles, demonstrating a strong foundation in accounting principles.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role is required. Candidates with experience in the manufacturing sector will have a significant advantage, given the specific financial dynamics of this industry.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP or Syspro is crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools will also be beneficial for performing various analyses and reports.
• Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills are mandatory. You should be comfortable using various software applications to enhance efficiency and productivity in your role.
