Key Responsibilities

As a Debtors Controller, you will be entrusted with several critical tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Managing the Debtors Book: You will be responsible for a debtors book valued at approximately R2 million. This requires close attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing outstanding payments.
  • Processing Invoices: On a monthly basis, you will handle around 1,200 invoices. Efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure are essential in ensuring that all transactions are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Handling Proof of Delivery (PODs): You will be tasked with filing PODs daily, ensuring that all deliveries are documented and filed accurately. This process is crucial for maintaining proper records and resolving any disputes that may arise.
  • Ensuring Timely Payments: Customers are expected to pay within 14 days. As a Debtors Controller, you will work closely with customers to ensure that payments are received on time, addressing any delays or issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Matric Certificate: A matric qualification is essential for this position.
  • Relevant Financial Qualifications: While not mandatory, having a financial qualification or certification will be highly advantageous and strengthen your application.
  • Experience with Pastel Partner and Sage: Proficiency in these financial software systems is crucial. You must be able to navigate them confidently and efficiently, as they will form a core part of your daily responsibilities.
  • Debtors Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience managing debtors is required. This ensures that you are familiar with the complexities of handling large volumes of invoices, managing outstanding payments, and maintaining accurate financial records.
