Position Overview
We are currently looking for an Attendant – Rooms to join our team in Manor House. This position is offered on a fixed-term contract and is ideal for someone who is committed to maintaining the highest standards in hospitality and housekeeping.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms and lodges according to Fancourt’s meticulous standards. We are looking for an individual who is not only passionate about cleanliness and hospitality but also understands the importance of creating a welcoming environment for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
As an Attendant – Rooms, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning and Servicing Guest Rooms: Ensure that all assigned guest rooms are cleaned thoroughly and are ready for guest arrivals. This includes making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities.
- Maintaining Fixtures and Furniture: Care for all fixtures, fittings, and furniture in each room, ensuring they are in excellent condition. You will report any damage or maintenance issues to the housekeeping supervisor for immediate attention.
- Following Housekeeping Protocols: Adhere to Fancourt’s cleaning protocols, including using the correct chemicals and products to service rooms efficiently and safely.
- Upkeep of Common Areas: Beyond individual guest rooms, it will be essential to maintain the cleanliness of common areas, storerooms, and surrounding workspaces to uphold the pristine condition of the hotel.
- Equipment and Supplies Management: Safeguard and maintain the company’s cleaning equipment, supplies, and guest amenities, ensuring they are stored properly and used responsibly.
- Additional Responsibilities: Turn mattresses monthly, handle guest requests with professionalism, and ensure that all housekeeping tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Who We’re Looking For
Fancourt is looking for dedicated and reliable candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Educational Requirement: You should have a minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Previous experience in general cleaning and housekeeping is highly desirable. While formal qualifications in hospitality are an advantage, hands-on experience and a passion for maintaining high standards are equally important.
- Physical Fitness: This role requires physical stamina as it involves cleaning, lifting, and moving equipment. You should be able to perform tasks that require physical effort, such as turning mattresses and carrying cleaning supplies.
- Location: Ideal candidates must have their own accommodation in George or the surrounding areas. Please note that this position does not include housing.
- Availability: The role will require you to work weekends, public holidays, and shift hours as needed to meet the operational requirements of the hotel.
- Personal Traits: We are looking for a person who is guest-centric, friendly, and professional. You should possess strong communication skills and be able to interact with guests and staff members respectfully.
