Job Overview:
A leading company in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturing industry is looking to hire a Junior HR Business Partner (HRBP). As the Junior HRBP, you will work closely with the HR Manager to support various HR functions, from recruitment to employee relations. Your expertise in labor relations, recruitment, and organizational policies will ensure smooth HR operations at the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Your main tasks will involve a variety of HR-related functions. Here’s what you will do:
- Recruitment and Selection: Help with the recruitment process by working closely with department managers to identify staffing needs. You’ll be involved in advertising positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and ensuring smooth onboarding and induction of new employees.
- Employee Support: Act as a support system for site managers and employees. Provide guidance on HR issues such as employment contracts, transfers, terminations, and related documentation. You’ll ensure all paperwork is completed and compliant with company policies.
- Labour Relations: Advise and assist line managers on labor relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and incapacity hearings. Ensure that the organization adheres to all labor laws and regulations.
- CCMA Representation: Attend and represent the company at CCMA conciliation hearings, where you’ll handle labor disputes and ensure the company’s interests are well-represented.
- Policy Compliance: Oversee that the company’s HR policies and procedures are followed correctly by all departments. Ensure employees are aware of and adhere to these policies.
- Employment Equity Reporting: Take charge of preparing reports and submissions for Employment Equity. This includes gathering necessary data, analyzing trends, and ensuring the company meets all legal obligations.
- Performance Management: Help line managers with employee performance reviews, identifying training needs, and supporting overall employee development through training and skills enhancement programs.
- Disciplinary Appeals: Oversee any appeals related to disciplinary actions. Work closely with line managers to ensure the disciplinary code is followed correctly, offering advice and support where necessary.
What You Need to Bring to the Role:
To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- Education: A relevant degree in Human Resources (HR) or a related field is essential.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar HR role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Labour Relations Expertise: Solid knowledge of labour relations, including handling grievances, disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- FMCG Experience: Previous experience working in a fast-paced FMCG environment is highly preferred.
