Key Responsibilities
As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will handle a wide range of duties. These responsibilities will help to maintain high standards of service and maximize profitability:
- Guest Experience & Customer Feedback
Ensure that guests have memorable dining experiences by maintaining excellent service standards. Regularly collect and act on guest feedback to improve customer satisfaction. - Revenue Growth & Profit Management
Work closely with the finance team to increase department revenue. This includes analyzing sales data, optimizing pricing strategies, and keeping costs under control to maximize profitability. - Menu Development & Quality Assurance
Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to update the menu with innovative dishes while maintaining top-notch food quality. Ensure that every dish served meets the highest standards of presentation and taste. - Inventory Management & Waste Control
Oversee inventory levels and ordering to ensure stock is well-managed. Reduce waste by monitoring kitchen processes and ensuring food items are used efficiently. Aim to minimize losses by keeping track of spoilage or overstocking. - Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure the restaurant is compliant with all food safety and health regulations. Regularly inspect kitchens, dining areas, and equipment to maintain hygiene standards and prevent safety hazards. - Team Training & Staff Development
Train your team to perform at their best by regularly conducting training sessions on customer service, food preparation, and safety practices. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and development among staff. - Operational Efficiency
Streamline day-to-day operations by improving processes that enhance guest service and staff productivity. Ensure that the restaurant operates smoothly, even during busy periods. - Marketing & Promotional Campaigns
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop exciting promotions and events that attract more guests. Utilize social media, email campaigns, and in-house promotions to boost sales and build customer loyalty. - Vendor & Supplier Relations
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate the best prices for goods. Ensure timely deliveries and manage supply chain processes to avoid shortages or delays. - Event Catering & Special Functions
Oversee food and beverage services for special events, such as weddings, conferences, and corporate functions. Ensure that catering is executed flawlessly, from menu planning to event setup. - Stock Control & Weekend Stock Checks
Keep detailed records of stock levels and conduct regular stock counts, including mandatory weekend evening stock takes, to ensure nothing is missing or damaged. - Staff Management & Waitstaff Training
Make sure the waitstaff and bar staff maintain a clean, organized work environment. Train them in offering excellent customer service, including the proper handling of food and drinks. - Reporting & Cost Control
Submit weekly reports that detail expenses, overheads, and other financial aspects. Keep a close eye on budgets to avoid overspending and address any damage, theft, or other losses. - Effective Shift Handover & Communication
Ensure seamless transitions between shifts by conducting thorough handovers and sharing important updates with incoming staff. Hold regular meetings to discuss any operational issues. - Guest Service & Account Management
Attend to guest needs promptly and professionally. Manage accounts accurately, including overseeing cash-ups and making sure all transactions are completed correctly. - Staff Menu Knowledge & Upselling Training
Train staff on the ingredients and preparation of all menu items, ensuring they are knowledgeable about what they serve. Teach staff effective upselling techniques and how to use the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently. - Event Setup & Table Arrangement
Guide your team in setting up the dining area for special group bookings and events, ensuring the arrangement is attractive and welcoming for guests.
