Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversight of the Debtors Team:

- Management of Credit and Collections Function:

- Analyze customer accounts to identify and address issues that may affect timely payment, ensuring that debtors are managed proactively and efficiently.
- Development and Implementation of Credit Policies:
- Collaborate with senior management to create robust credit policies and procedures that align with the company’s objectives. These policies will help mitigate financial risks and support the organization’s overall growth.
- Regularly review and update credit policies to ensure they remain effective and compliant with industry standards.
- Leadership and Training Innovation:
- Take on a leadership role by not only managing your team but also mentoring and training staff members. Encourage professional development through coaching and constructive feedback, ensuring that your team is equipped with the skills needed for success.
- Promote innovative approaches to credit management, encouraging team members to think creatively about problem-solving and customer interactions.
- Collaboration with Sales and Finance Departments:

- Assistance in Negotiation of Payment Terms:
- Engage with customers to negotiate favorable payment terms that are beneficial to both parties. This may include setting up payment plans or adjusting terms based on customer circumstances, ensuring that the company’s interests are protected while fostering good customer relationships.
- Compliance and Best Practices:

- Keep up to date with changes in credit management best practices and legal requirements. This includes participating in industry forums, attending training sessions, and continuously learning to enhance your expertise in credit management.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
- Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCom) with a focus on Accounting or a Diploma in Financial Accounting or Credit Management is essential. These educational backgrounds provide a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within finance or accounts receivable is required. This experience will help you navigate the complexities of managing a team and understanding the nuances of credit management.
- Proven track record of managing credit and collections, demonstrating a clear understanding of effective financial management practices.
- Skills:
