We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Showroom Consultant to join our client’s dynamic team. In this role, you will become a key player in helping customers transform their homes by assisting them in selecting high-quality bathroom fixtures, tiles, lighting, and accessories that match their unique style and needs.

Position Overview

As a Showroom Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for clients. Your main responsibility is to guide customers through their product selections, providing expert advice and ensuring they leave satisfied with their choices. Whether the customer is renovating their bathroom or building a new home, your ability to understand their vision and recommend the right products will be essential.

This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for customer service. You will work closely with a diverse range of clients, helping them navigate the showroom and offering personalized assistance to ensure that their shopping experience is both enjoyable and successful.


Key Responsibilities

In your day-to-day role as a Showroom Consultant, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Customer Assistance: Help clients select bathroom fixtures, tiles, lighting, and accessories that best fit their design preferences and functional needs. Your product knowledge and attention to detail will help customers make informed decisions.
  • Product Knowledge and Recommendations: Stay up to date on the latest trends in bathroom design, including product features, installation requirements, and material durability. You’ll provide expert advice on product functionality, style, and installation, ensuring that customers feel confident in their selections.
  • Customer Inquiries and Issues: Address customer inquiries both in-person and over the phone, providing prompt, courteous responses. You’ll also manage any issues or concerns that arise, ensuring that customer satisfaction remains a top priority.
  • Sales Support: Help process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all sales are recorded correctly in the system. You will also assist with managing inventory and placing orders for products as needed to ensure that the showroom remains well-stocked.
  • Showroom Maintenance: Keep the showroom organized, clean, and visually appealing. Regularly update displays to reflect the latest product offerings and design trends, ensuring that the space is always inspiring and engaging for clients.
  • Problem Solving: Handle challenging client interactions with patience and professionalism. Your ability to stay calm under pressure, think critically, and provide solutions will be key to maintaining a positive client experience, even in demanding situations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties, including data entry, report generation, and inventory management. You’ll use your computer skills to keep customer information organized and up to date, supporting the smooth operation of the showroom.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Education: A minimum qualification of a Matric certificate or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in a sales or retail environment. Previous experience working in interior design, home décor, or construction-related fields is a big plus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You must be able to engage with clients in a professional and friendly manner, making them feel valued and supported throughout their showroom experience.
  • Customer-Centric Attitude: A passion for customer service is a must. You’ll need to go above and beyond to meet customer needs, showing empathy and dedication to ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to remain calm and composed, even when dealing with demanding clients. Your patience and ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently will be key to creating a positive experience for all customers.
  • Multi-tasking Abilities: As you’ll be juggling multiple responsibilities, excellent multitasking and time-management skills are important. You should be comfortable managing several tasks simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills are required, including experience with MS Office applications. You’ll also need to be comfortable learning new software systems quickly and efficiently.
  • Design Knowledge: While previous experience in interior design is not required, an interest in or knowledge of design trends, particularly in bathrooms, would be beneficial. You’ll need to stay current with design trends to help clients make informed decisions about their purchases.

Working Hours

The position requires availability during the following hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 17:00
  • Saturday: 08:30 – 12:30
